edinburgh wedding photographer

As an Edinburgh based wedding photographer, I am so fortunate to have some of the most beautiful wedding venues right on my doorstep. Some favourites include Errol Park Estate, Mansfield Traquair, Gilmerton House, Graywalls, Dunblane Hydro, The Balmoral Hotel, Prestonfield House, Kirknewton Stables, The Edinburgh Royal Botanics and Edinburgh City Chambers just to name a few! The diversity and breadth of places to get married in Scotland is staggering and I’m always keen to discover new places.

My years of experience have taught me that the most magical shots take forethought and planning. As we work together, I will take you through the basics of posing and making sure you are getting the most out of your time in front of the camera. There’s no need to be nervous, getting your photo taken can actually be fun!  I promise that you will absolutely love the results.

I leave plenty of space for your own magical wedding day moments to come through but I’m always on hand to help you frame those experiences into something truly beautiful.

I love beautiful design, gorgeously planned weddings and couples that have fun with their wedding planning! If you’re planning a day that is romantic, beautiful, quirky, tiny, or just simply perfect for you – then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

FAQ

What's the process? What can we expect once we book you?

If you’re happy to book me, I require a non refundable deposit to secure the day. You’ll also be expected to review my standard wedding photography contract and digitally sign it.

Once we’ve had your engagement shoot (which can be anywhere you’d like in and around Edinburgh or Glasgow) and we’re a bit closer to the wedding, you can expect to receive an online questionnaire that is going to help me put together your timeline for the day. It includes questions like the timing of ceremony and dinner, photo groupings we can’t forget to take and confirmation of contact details. I’ll put this all together in a handy one page timeline for you both to sign off on – so everyone is on the same page.

A few days after your wedding expect to see a little “sneak peek” of your photography in your inbox. This is a small collection of images I’ve picked out which I think gives a wonderful overview of the great day you both shared with friends and family. Your final images will be sent to you within 6-8 weeks of your wedding day in a gorgeous online gallery and hosted for one year.

What's your working style?

Totally friendly and relaxed! The highest compliments that I receive from clients are things like “it was just like having a great friend photograph my wedding” and “you were so stealthy, I didn’t even know you were there!”

I can be assertive when I need to and I’m absolutely on hand to guide you, but mostly I love capturing people laughing, having a great time and enjoying celebrating the love of their best friends or family. I love a bit of banter and I cherish the mornings with everyone getting ready and feeling the excitement of whats to come.

Are you the photographer that will shoot my wedding?

Yes, unless you have requested a second shooter who will accompany me on the day. This is my own business and I am highly invested in the look and feel of the images I create. All the work on my website and my portfolio (unless stated) is 100% my own.

Are you insured?

Myself, my equipment and my business are all fully insured with reputable UK based insurance companies, specialising in photography insurance. I operate with a full equipment back up and my kit is checked and serviced regularly to protect against potential problems.

If for a life/death reason I am unable to photograph your event on the day and a reschedule is not possible, then I have a network of highly qualified photographers that I can call on to replace me in an emergency. I hope that never happens, but I am prepared for the worst should it occur.

What's the deal with the final images? Do we pay you for prints?

You own your final edited photos. Once the final set of images is delivered to you, it’s up to you what you do with them. Share them on your socials! Send the log in details to your friends and family for your online gallery. Make a fun album with your favourite shots and even order some prints with your favourite high street supplier. It’s totally up to you.

However.

I really encourage you to come back to me for professional level prints if you are thinking about displaying or framing any of your images. All my display sized prints and albums come with detailed retouching and quality control and are full guaranteed against fading. You just can’t beat the colour reproduction of professionally printed images. If your package includes print credit or an album, take advantage and speak to me about selecting the images that really capture the day.

A complimentary full album design service is also available with albums starting at £300.
