You would be forgiven if you didn’t believe me that this was Scotland. I felt like I had been transported to a magical tropical island that just happened to be 40 minutes from Edinburgh. Inchcolm Island and its romantic 12th century abbey is where Keith and Kelly chose to exchange their personal and touching vows in front of their closest friends and family, and I’m so glad they did!
Our adventure began at South Queensferry where we boarded the Maid of the Forth, with our bride hidden craftily in the Captain’s cabin with her ‘maids! After a somewhat admittedly rough start to the journey (I did notice a few people looked a tad green) the waters calmed and the sun broke out from behind the clouds… and it was a spectacular day that just kept giving. From their vows and time spent basking in the Scottish sunshine, to the evening concluding at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens, the entire day was a brilliant success.
Highlights from the day had to be Keith’s daughter Lucy singing traditional Scottish and Irish folk songs (that voice!) during the ceremony and the impressive setting of Inchcolm itself. I fell in love with this little island, and after this lovely sneak peek of Keith and Kelly’s day, I think you will too!
Aren’t they a gorgeous couple? See more weddings, here.
