The wedding photography progress

You’ve probably never hired a wedding photographer before, this is how I work…

Our first meeting

Let’s get together! We’ll meet, have some tea (or wine) and have a chat.  I want to hear all about your wedding, your expectations for your photographer and I can show you more of my portfolio.  Bring lots of questions to ask me!

Like what you see?

A 50% deposit* is needed to secure your wedding date and I’ll also ask you to sign my standard wedding contract.  That’s it!  I’m all yours.

* Non refundable.  I take cash, bank transfer and all major credit cards.

Your engagement shoot

I always aim to do a pre-wedding shoot, usually called an engagement shoot.  It’s a few low key hours of great photos of the two of you and I teach you the basics of posing!  It’s fun, I promise.  It’s good practice for the wedding day…

Questionnaire + site visit

2-3 weeks before your wedding day, you’ll receive an emailed questionnaire from me, covering all the details from the day – from the timing of hair and makeup to the first dance. I will also have completed my site visit (where appropriate) and might have some specific questions for you.  This is where we iron out the snags so the day runs smoothly.

After the wedding

Your sneak peek will hit the blog a few days after your wedding which will give you and your family a great overview from the day.  Final edited images will be delivered to your online gallery at most 4 weeks after wedding, with a USB to follow shortly after.

// Louisa + Ben Married at Mansfield Traquair

I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know L+B much better, and their amazing families at their personal and romantic wedding here in Edinburgh.  You don't need to be psychic to see why they wanted to get married at Mansfield Traquair - sometimes referred to as...

// Rosie + Dave Married at Duns Castle

Married at Duns Castle with Lego, Eagles and Connect-Four There are certain weddings where I internally shout "YESSSSS" because the couple are doing whatever-the-heck-they-darn-well please.  When R+D chose to get married at Duns Castle, they knew wanted a different...

// Rebecca + Jacob: Glen Coe Engagement

Glen Coe Engagement One thing that I've been dying to do for ages is take a couple up to Glen Coe to take advantage of the incredible scenery that I have on my doorstep but never actually visit.  (Well, not never - but not often enough!) Meet Rebecca + Jacob, the...

// Married at Duns Castle: Seth + Sabrina

A Duns Castle Wedding: Scottish Borders, Duns Seth + Sabrina were married last year at the historic and impressive Duns Castle.  I'm a photographer, not a writer - so I don't actually have the words to describe how incredible it is to come up the drive and see Duns...

// A whole new world: Florida

So the most incredible thing happened to me while I was planning our trip away to Florida this past November.  (Let me preface this by saying how much I love Scotland.  I love living in Scotland, I love shooting in Scotland and I love photographing Scottish people. ...
