You might remember Kirsteen + Stephen from last year’s “Win your wedding photography” competition, so please welcome back my two very lucky winners! I mean – I think they felt lucky to win, but I felt even luckier to have them. A nicer, more deserving couple would be harder to meet. Right away as soon as we started talking about the vision for their wedding day, I knew that we were on the same page. They wanted laid back, personal vibe and the venue that they picked was perfection. I had never photographed Knockraich Farm before, but I am so very glad that I was introduced to it. Special doesn’t even begin to describe it. From the incredible views out toward the Campsie Fells, to the beautifully maintained gardens at the farm, everywhere you look there is something beautiful to look at. Knockraich is a working farm, but they have managed to keep the farm area and wedding area relatively separate. If you are looking for rustic venue that will give your guests a very different (but still wonderful!) wedding experience, I highly recommend that you give them a visit.
Kirsteen is originally from Stornoway and so much of her traveled down for their wedding and it was wonderful to hear all the different accents and dialects from up north. Their ceremony was touching and very personal, celebrating their love, their faith and all the friends and family that had come as far as New Zealand to watch the couple get married. Of course we were all watching the weather leading up to the big day and it had actually been calling for black clouds… potentially some rain. And low and behold, it was incredible hot and often very sunny throughout the day! I was totally unprepared of course, ended up with my first sunburn of the season…
Anyways, enough about me – please enjoy this little taster of their incredible day! If you’re looking to chat about your own wedding photography, please don’t hesitate to get in touch here.
