There is something about a tiny wedding, or an Edinburgh elopement that gets my heart racing. I’m sure every couple who are planning a wedding discusses throwing everything in and running away together. Just the two of you, or maybe one or two of your closest people with you – it’s such an appealing idea!
Well, meet Jayne + Christopher with their one year old son Edward, who along with Jayne’s sister and Christopher’s sister and brother in law, traveled up to Edinburgh from down South to elope and celebrate! I was so touched that they asked me to be their wedding photographer for their tiny Edinburgh elopement. Edinburgh was an entirely new city for Jayne and Christopher and I loved their adventurous spirit – why can’t a wedding be both a celebration and a chance to explore a brand new place?
Everything about this wedding was simple and elegant – from the timeless navy blue colour scheme to Jayne’s knee length Monsoon dress, the whole event came together beautifully with the focus exactly where it should be, on Jayne, Christopher and their adorable son Edward. After a lovely and touching ceremony at City Chambers, we took a stroll down the Royal Mile, taking in the sights and me acting as a very rubbish tour guide… (I won’t be giving up my day job, lets just say that!) We stopped at some classic Edinburgh sites, before ending up at the incredible and iconic “Dome” restaurant for a wedding meal they wouldn’t forget.
All in all, a wonderful and perfect day. Congratulations Christopher + Jayne on your gorgeous Edinburgh elopement!
