I first met Hilary + Diarmuid when I photographed Hilary’s twin brother’s wedding last summer.  I remembered their family well (all for good reasons I assure you!) and so when Hilary got in touch about photographing their elegant wedding at The Edinburgh Principal George Street Hotel, to say I was excited was an understatement.  I hadn’t been there since the refurbishment so not only was I excited to work with their whole family, I was looking forward to photographing the venue as well.   With easy access to some of Edinburgh best sites and also Queen Street Gardens for the couples photography, The Edinburgh Principal George Street Hotel really is the ultimate city centre wedding location!

What I love most about this beautiful couple is how genuinely nice they are.  Not only are they both very good looking, tall and athletic – they are both the embodiment of generosity.  They were constantly thinking of other people before themselves, even on their wedding day!  Diarmuid’s face as Hilary walked into St Andrew + St George’s West Church was wonderful.  He looked as if he couldn’t quite believe his eyes, and I don’t blame him.  When Hilary walked in with her deceptively simple A-line beaded halter neck gown, the whole room held its breath, she made for an incredibly elegant bride.  We had a wonderful time with the photos and it helped that H+D really were up for anything.  Run down the middle of the street in traffic in front of the Scot Monument?  Not a problem!

The whole day was the biggest success and I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Hilary + Diarmuid a lifetime of happiness together.
