I don’t think that I could have possibly started off my 2016 wedding photography season any better. I am so happy to introduce you to Eva + Jonathan, who were married this past weekend at Errol Park, just outside of Perth. This was a new venue for me for this year but I’m actually photographing two weddings here this season, lucky me!! I could happily live here. It’s a really versatile location for anyone looking for something traditional yet different.
Eva and Jonathan are a wonderful couple. This was my first time meeting them both and they were so warm and welcoming. In fact, their entire family was. Everyone seemed to have traveled far and wide to watch these two make their vows. People came from Holland, Spain and Oman, not to mention the many that traveled up from down south where the couple now live. It was an international day, but also very inclusive. They managed to find the only registrar in the area that spoke both English and Spanish – so their vows were bilingual with very personal readings done in both languages. Jonathan’s family traveled over from Tenerife where he is from and some of them wore the traditional Tenerife dress, a beautiful and special way to bring a little bit of Spain to the Scottish countryside!
With a soft pastel peach colour scheme that ran from the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers, to the table decorations – the theme of the day was a dreamy vintage vibe that worked perfectly against Errol Park in the spring. Eva even had tulips incorporated into her bouquet to honour her Dutch heritage. The details were all thought through perfectly and the day went off without a hitch! I especially loved the Spanish tapas starters waiting for all the guests when they made their way up to the dining area, and the proper English afternoon tea that was served after the vows. If you are thinking about honouring two quite different cultural backgrounds, I always say the best way to do it is through food. 🙂
The party was just properly getting started as a made my exit, with a proper ceilidh underway and Eva and Jonathan not missing a single jig or reel! I was so honoured to capture their day for them and I wish them all the best for the future, with much love and happiness.
Sarah xx
